To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, renowned Lebanese makeup artist Hala Ajam wanted to take to social media a new ideal for portraying women in the Arab World. BoboLink’s task was to come up with an unconventional approach to the message.

Emojis are a global language, and people around the world can relate to it instantly. BoboLink used them to launch an online emoji campaign depicting all types of women by adding a veiled emoji to the list. The campaign brought together different women that come from different social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and accentuated the importance of the veiled woman in the community alongside the others, advocating the fact that it should not be ignored.

The art of reinvention

The campaign created a lot of buzz on social media, and Hala was called in to speak about her views on the issue by various media outlets.
