Lebanese Pop Superstar Maya Diab launched her debut album cover in collaboration with BoboLink. BoboLink was tasked with the creative direction and execution of the launching campaign
The shoot featured the normally provocative queen of “shock-art” in a surprisingly stripped down look for the artwork of the album, showing Diab in a rather subtle, personal beauty, looking off her bare shoulder into the camera, with messy hair and minimal nude makeup by renowned Lebanese makeup artist Hala Ajam, that brought out and highlighted rather than masked Maya’s beautiful features. The idea was to portray her essence, to show people what Maya is really about, and to give the whole thing a very personal touch. We also shot a promotional video as well as an emoji video with the hashtag #myMAYA.
The art of reinvention
The shoot was meant to shock and surprise audiences who would expect something outrageous and controversial from the star’s debut. The album was released in July 2015 featuring nine tracks from the artist. It also marked the beginning of several collaborations between the idol and BoboLink.
